If I was in town tomorrow (Tuesday), I'd have a tough time deciding among these three great shows:
1) Certainly Sir, Cyanide Valentine, Boy in Static and Westward Trail at Bill's Bar
2) Electric Six and She Wants Revenge at Middle East Downstairs
3) Cinematic Underground at Great Scott
Please enjoy one or more of these for me

If anyone has an extra ticket for Stars or Silver Jews and wants a really fun show buddy (me:), please email me. merci!

If you could go back in time and see 5 bands perform that you've never seen, what bands would you pick? (from an ongoing dialog from the weekend)

Group Therapy Karaoke at Bill's Bar is tons of fun, even if your'e not big on Karaoke. Bill's is booking pretty good bands lately too. You should go, even though it's on Lansdown St.

I'm fighting a cold. I didn't go to Calla. I'm crushed to have missed them. That is all.

Broken Social Scene on Conan last night were awesome. The mix wasn't as bad as you can get on the late night shows and it was funny to watch the camera guys try to jump around enough to cover everyone. Both Leslie Feist and Emily Haines were present for the performance of "Shoreline." As much as I don't like her (lack of) stage presence, it must have sucked to be Lisa Lobsinger and not needed when more of the star vocalists were available.

Watch Vitalic's video for Pony Pt 1. I wish he was popping up to Boston on his mini-tour.

Am I the only one who does NOT like the new Cat Power? Or the only bold enough to say it? Sorry, but no thanks.

New shows:
- 3/22: Youth Group at The Paradise
- 3/23: Annie at Great Scott
- 4/7: Wolf Parade at The Paradise
- 4/1: Giant Drag at The Paradise (opening for The Cribs and Nine Black Alps)
- 4/24: John Vanderslice at Middle East Upstairs
- 5/15: Coldcut at The Paradise

Freeheat album comes out March 28th. Begin melting now.

I just realized I hadn't written about Saturday's Broken Social Scene show yet. Wow! Wow! Wow! It was billed as "An Evening with BSS" - instead of any openers we were treated to a brilliant 2 hours and 45 minutes and 20 songs of the BSS experience. I think there were 17 people that cycled through the night including a 5 piece brass ensemble, Emily Haines and James Shaw of Metric and David Newfeld (BSS producer). There was almost dropping pants but not. There was lots of joking and smiles and witty banter. The lighting was magical and made it look like many of them were about to be abducted, as Kathryn LittleQuill captured. I have no idea how the sound guy does it, but everyone sounded fantastic. Aaron Watermarktrio has the setlist. Lover's Spit made me melt 10x over. It was my 3rd time seeing Broken Social Scene and they impress me more and more each time.
